A Heart Function Test with Continuous Registration of Oxygen Consumption and Carbon Dioxide Production

Abstract
The authors present a test of myocardial function based on the continuous registration of pulmonary exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide during rest and a standard amount of work. The authors believe that the test is simple enough for wide clinical application. The "functiocardiogram" is of considerable physiologic and clinical interest. The normal values of the test are defined and afew examples of abnormal tests are discussed.
