Abstract
A new technique is described for evaluating bacterial cell distribution in fecal samples. Spatial relationships of cells within an area rather than number of cells per unit volume or weight are measured by this technique. Measurements of cell distribution by this method indicated that bacteria occurred in freshly voided swine feces as pure, discrete colonies rather than as single cells distributed randomly or uniformly throughout the sample. Keywords
