ESR and Annealing of Defect Centers Trapped in Irradiated Cadmium Chlorate

Abstract
By ESR and optical absorption experiments the paramagnetic centers O, ClO2 and (ClO2Cl) are identified in irradiated single crystal Cd(ClO3)2. The ESR spectrum and its angular dependence show that the centers have one magnetically equivalent site per unit cell. The thermal annealing of the centers show that they follow a first‐order kinetic activation process. Crystallographic data are obtained for Cd(ClO3)2 not available in the literature.
