Abstract
The release of marked codling moths in baited orchards at Yakima, Wash., resulted in the recovery of from 6 to 96% with an average recovery of 44.3%. The distance the moths traveled and the percentage of each group selected are as follows: 0-150 ft., 58%; 151-225 ft., 20.9%; 226-300 ft., 14.3%; 301 ft. or over, 6.8%. The average flight recorded in these expts. was 143 ft. and the maximum 363 ft. Of the moths liberated at various distances outside of the baited orchards very few were recovered, indicating that the bait did not attract many of the moths long distances.
