Abstract
Porapak Q®, Porapak T® and Polypak 1® (Waters Assoc., Framingham, Mass.) were coated with Carbowax 20 M and Squalane. When these polymer beads were impregnated with a liquid phase, the effective surface area decreased, and for all tested compounds except acids, lowered retention times were found. HETP-values as a function of percent Carbowax 20 M on Porapak Q show a minimum at 2%. These coated polymers can be used in order to shorten extremely long retention times or to resolve acids from other compounds. Keywords
