Abstract
Deuterium disproportionation equilibria in the ammonia system were studied at 0° and 25° with a pulsed‐molecular‐beam mass spectrometer. The equilibrium constant for the reaction NH3+ND3=NH2D+NHD2 was found to be 8.29±0.25 at 0° as compared with a statistical value of 9. The experimental results are shown to be consistent with theoretical calculations and similar measurements in the water system. Keywords
