Abstract
Cysticercosis in a 5-month-old greyhound bitch with canine distemper is described. The liver contained several Cysticerus pisiformis, which elicited an inflammatory reaction char-acterized by successive zones of mononuclear cells, lymphocytes, and f ibrosis. Neutrophils and macrophages occurred in the lumen of the lesion. Abscesses resulted from the disintegration of cysticerci. The source of infection with cysticerci is unknown. This is the second recognized case of canine cysticercosis due to C. pisiformis, but the first reported from North America. Keywords
