Abstract
The concept of a cell material introduced by Miller is reinvestigated in connection with Brown’s assertion that an asymmetric cell material is not self‐consistent [J. Math. Phys. 15, 1516 (1974)]. We construct a simple example of the asymmetric cell material which is in fact self‐consistent. The misleading interpretation of the asymmetric cell material is due to Miller rather than to Brown. Keywords
