Abstract
The polytypic family Lepidoziaceae, subdivided into 7 subfamilies, includes 2 groups, the Bazzanioideae and Lepidozioideae, which are normally very distinct in the pseudodichotomous branching of the former vs. the plumose branching of the latter. The new genus DENDROBAZZANIA Schust. et Schof., based on Mastigobryum griffithianum Steph. falls midway between the 2 groups: it has the asymmetric, tridentate leaves and coarse trigones of Bazzanioideae, but the plumose branching of most Lepidozioideae. Dendrobazzania is a relict, known only from sterile plants, whose range is confined to Bhutan-Bengal and the Queen Charlotte Islands. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
