Abstract
A modification of the 1-plate method for detection of staphylococcal hemolysins is described. Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae and Cornebacterium pseudotuberculosis were replaced by their prepurified hemolytically active exosubstances: .beta.-toxin, CAMP[Christie Atkins Munch-Petersen]-factor and the exosubstance of C. pseudotuberculosis called COREX. Exact detection of hemolysins is possible with staphylococcal strains producing 1 type or a combination of hemolysins.
