Abstract
The magnetic susceptibility of a Tg ion coupled to Eg lattice displacements is calculated exactly. Symmetry-adapted phonon operators are used, by which means previous work is clarified. Attention is drawn to the behaviour of different lattice models, and the cluster model is found to give more realistic results than a non-dispersive Debye lattice. Keywords
