Measurements of spontaneous-emission rates in atomic thallium

Abstract
We report measurements of the following spontaneous-emission rates in atomic thallium: A(6D327P12)=(5.97±0.78)×105s1, A(7P127S12)=(1.71±0.07)×107s1, A(7P327S12)=(2.37±0.09)×107s1, and A(8P32all)=(9.2±1.0)×106s1. These results are compared to predictions of theoretical models and lend support to calculations of the recently measured parity-nonconserving circular dichroism of the 6P127P12 forbidden M1 transition in thallium.
