Abstract
We report polarized micro-Raman spectra of C at room temperature. The sample used in the Raman experiment was well characterized by x-ray powder diffraction and ac magnetic susceptibility measurements (≊14.5 K). For C, there are only four Raman phonons allowed by symmetry and we have identified them at 198 (Ni-), 282 (Ni-), 470 (B-), and 832 (B-).
