Complexity of Calcium Arsenate as Revealed by Chemical Analysis of Fractions of Different Particle Size

Abstract
A sample of Ca arsenate was separated into several fractions by an air classifier. The particle-size distribution was detd. on the original sample and on 3 fractions, the finest and coarsest and one intermediate between these 2. These fractions varied greatly in chem. composition; a chemical as well as a mechanical separation was accomplished. The fine particles contained more ar-senically combined CaO than the coarse ones and, therefore, much less water-soluble As.
