Persistence of Tepa in Fall Armyworm Moths123

Abstract
The persistence of tepa in male and female fall armyworm moths, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith). was determined by radiometric and gas chromatographic (GLC) procedures. The radiometric analyses showed considerably more tepa on and in the insects than did the specific GLC analyses, an indication that C14-Iabeled fragments of the tepa molecule were being analyzed as tepa. Within 24 hours, more than 90% of the tepa disappeared from moths that ingested as much as 100 ag per moth. More than 95% disappeared within 48 hour.
