Abstract
A total of 130 isolates of Candida albicans obtained from oral, vaginal and skin sites, were biotyped using the API 20C sugar assimilation system. One major biotype accounted for 75% of the isolates, while 12 minor biotypes accounted for the rest. The API 20C system may therefore be useful in supplementing other biotyping schemes of C. albicans available at present. Keywords
