Epilepsy in Middle or Advanced Age

Abstract
A clinical study was made on 66 middle-aged and elderly epileptic patients. They were divided for the purpose of study into three groups according to the onset stage. The findings briefly are as follows: 1) about 65% of the patients developed epilepsy when they were over 20 years old, 2) patients over middle age with epilepsy showed a high percentage of complex partial seizures, 3) each group showed specific features in regard to etiological study, 4) regarding control of seizures, 56.1% of the middle and advanced age patients responded favorably on the whole, and 5) 66.7% of the patients showed mental disturbances.Keywords
