The Volume of the Sella turcica in Patients with Anorexia Nervosa

Abstract
The sellar volume was, measured radiographically in 18 female cases of anorexia nervosa and compared with that of 185 control cases divided into 4 groups: younger females, older females, younger males and older males. The mean volume for the control group of younger females (15–33 years old) was 587 mm3 a figure that is statistically significantly different (p3 for the group of older females (45–60 years old). No difference was found between the 2 male groups. The sellar volume in the anorexia nervosa cases (547 mm3) was significantly different from that of older women (p<0.01) but not from that of younger women.
