Timetabling in Germany—A Survey

Abstract
For about 25 years, attempts have been made to schedule classes and meetings (to timetable) by computer. In Germany, many programs have been developed, and during the last 12 years several programs for mainframe computers have been used on a large scale. During the last five years, more and more schools are using microcomputers to produce their timetables.
