Abstract
Sera harvested from multiparous women or from allograft recipients who had rejected their kidneys and containing various anti-DRW specificities, were studied on peripheral blood or lymph node lymphocytes bearing or lacking the relevant B[bone marrow-derived]-cell alloantigen, for their EA [erythrocyte-antibody] or EAC [erythrocyte-antibody complement]-rosette-inhibition activity. Inhibition of C3 [complement component 3] or Fc-receptor occurred independently of their anti-B lymphocyte cytotoxicity pattern. The same conclusion was reached when lymphocytes were macrophage depleted or B lymphocyte enriched. A relationship in man between B lymphocyte (DRW) alloantigen and Fc or C3 receptor structure was not suggested.
