Abstract
It is pointed out that for practical applications it is the effective rather than the intrinsic dielectric constant of zirconia which is important. Possible reasons why the effective dielectric constant might be very different from the intrinsic value are discussed, and the previously published values for the dielectric constant are reinterpreted in terms of the method of measurement used and its effect on the results obtained. Keywords
