Abstract
Microwave spectra assignable to gas phase aminodifluoroborane (BF2NH2) have been detected in the reaction of BF3 with NH3. A centrifugal distortion analysis has been carried out on the species 11BF2 14NH2 and 10BF2 14NH2. Distortion corrected rotational constants have also been obtained for 11BF2 15NH2, 10BF2 15NH2, 11BF2 14ND2, and 10BF2 14ND2. The molecule has been found to be planar with the following geometry: rB–F = 1.325(12) A, rB–N = 1.402(24) Å, rN–H = 1.0029(18) Å, and . The observed dipole moment of BF2NH2 is μ=2.595(30) D.
