Abstract
The utero-ovarian vascularization of the non-pregnant rat was investigated and morphometrically evaluated. The ovarian and uterine arteries anastomose, and a ramus ovaricus branches off. The branching of the 2 vessels from their main trunks differs from side to side, as do their diameters. Several segmental arteries arise from each uterine artery in the corpus uteri, also varying specifically from side to side. Coiled circular arteries are inserted before the terminal course. The uterine cervical vascularization is described separately. Varying regulating effects on the function of the vessels are discussed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
