Abstract
A previously observed relationship between runoff curve numbers and storm rainfall is further examined. Under some wildland conditions the runoff curve numbers have been observed to decrease with increasing storm size. The existence of a relatively constant runoff source area is hypothesized to produce this relationship. For the high elevation wildland watershed studied this hypothesis appears valid. Keywords
