Abstract
The life span of the red blood cell as detd. with glycine-2-C14 in the hypophysectomized rat (64 days) is at least as great as that of the normal rat (57 days). Therefore, the anemia of hypophysectomy cannot be explained by a decrease in the life span of the red cell but must be due to decrease in the rate of production of red blood cells. Keywords
