Abstract
A novel class of nucleic acid analogues, termed LNA (locked nucleic acids), is introduced. Following the Watson–Crick base pairing rules, LNA forms duplexes with complementary DNA and RNA with remarkably increased thermal stabilities and generally improved selectivities.Keywords
