Abstract
A study of hypohaptoglobinemia in 23 offspring of 10 Caucasian families is consistent with the hypothesis that a mutant Hp controller gene is inherited in a simple Mendelian recessive fashion. This supports the hypothesis proposed by Parker and Beam (1963). Additional study is needed to further evaluate such a hypothesis. Keywords
