Abstract
Expressions have been obtained for the multipole polarizabilities and shielding factors of the hydrogen atom by application of the time-dependent perturbation scheme developed by Wiener, Askar, and Demiralp utilizing a hydrodynamic analogy to quantum mechanics. Our expressions reduce to the exact values in the zero-frequency limit, obtained by Dalgarno with conventional perturbation theory. Keywords
