EFFECT OF BILATERAL ADRENALECTOMY ON METASTATIC CHORIOCARCINOMA FROM TERATOMA OF THE TESTIS

Abstract
Practically nothing is known about the effects of bilateral adrenalectomy on metastases of testicular cancer. Quantitation of the effect of a presumptive therapuetic agent can be obtained from the growth rate of discrete metastases to the lungs before and after therapy. In the patient of this report, who had chorionic metastases from a teratoma of the testis, bilateral adrenalectomy produced no apparent change in the growth rate of measured discrete metastatic nodules. It is shown how to estimate the doublingtime of metastatic nodules in the lungs.
