Abstract
The factorial approach to the determination of the dietary requirements of macroelements is a two-stage process; in the first the net requirements are estimated and in the second, the fractional absorption of the dietary mineral is used to convert net to dietary requirements (Agricultural Research Council, 1965). At the first stage the maintenance component is allotted a fixed value, so that estimated dietary requirements are directly proportional to absorbability of the element. Keywords
