Abstract
Despite the improvement in the spectra of the data-adaptive weighted Burg technique (DAB) proposed by Helme and Nikias over other well-known techniques, the DAB requires an iterative algorithm to generate the first- and second-order reflection coefficients. In this correspondence, a new initialization procedure is presented that computes the first- and second-order reflection coefficients recursively rather than iteratively. This will make the speed of the DAB comparable to that of the Burg technique. Keywords
