Abstract
A 5 yr old boy is presented suffering from malignant hypertension due to hemolytic-uremic syndrome. Captopril, an oral angiotensin-1-converting enzyme inhibitor, was able to curb the natural course of the malignant hypertension. Hemodialysis could be discontinued after 2 mo. The glomerular filtration rate recovered to 63 ml/min per 1.73 m2 11 mo. after the acute phase. Keywords
