Abstract
This is the 1st report of the morphogenetic effects of 2 juvenile hormone analogues on larvae of Solenopsis richteri Forel and S. invicta Buren. Both analogues were capable of preventing pupation but isopropyl 11-methoxy-3, 7,11-trimethyldodeca-2,4-dienoate proved consistently effective when administered topically, orally, or by trophallaxis. Anomalous prepupae, pupae, and workers occurred when developing larvae came in contact with concentrations of 5 parts per million or more. Ethyl 3,7,11-trimethyldodeca-2,4-dienoate proved less effective when administered by trophallaxis. Keywords
