Light diffraction in holographic arrays-different mechanisms of photorefractive effect in ferroelectrics

Abstract
The influence of piezocrystal, local overcharge of extrinsic centres and photoinduced change of spontaneous polarization of ferroelectric photorefractive crystal on modulation of its optic properties while holographic array recording has been considered in this paper. There have been carried out the results of numerical calculations taking into account the contribution of linear electro-optic piezoelectric and photoelastic effects into the change of dielectric unpermittivity LiNbO3 crystal tensor for holography array vector orientation in the planes YZ and XZ. Experimental investigations have shown the necessity of the secondary contribution calculation caused by piezoelectric and photoelastic effects.
