Abstract
A cyprinid, P. persidis sp. nov. is described from the province of Fars, southern Iran. It is distinguished from other members of the genus by a 2-rowed pharyngeal tooth formula (modally 1,5-4,1), a complete lateral line with 35-43 scales, III,7 dorsal fin rays and III,7-9 anal fin rays. The new species is found in endorheic and Persian Gulf drainages, in springs, ganats, streams and large rivers. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
