Acute myocardial infarction following blunt chest trauma

Abstract
A 32-year-old male riding a motorcycle was involved in an accident resulting in blunt torso trauma. He had fractures of the skull, first right rib, and left femoral bone. Electrocardiogram showed acute anteroseptal myocardial infarction (MI). Subsequent coronary angiogram demonstrated laceration at the proximal portion of the left anterior descending coronary artery. Echocardiogram showed depressed left ventricular function as well as hypokinesis over septal and apical areas. His recovery was smooth.Keywords
