Abstract
PROPAMIDINE, an aromatic diamidine, was shown in 1945 to be effective against Blastomyces dermatitidis in vitro.1In 1951, propamadine and stilbamidine were used successfully in the treatment of two cases of disseminated blastomycosis.2A subsequent report3has shown continued excellent results with the use of stilbamidine. In support of the evidence cited above we are reporting the results in two cases in confirmation of the value of stilbamidine in the treatment of blastomycosis of the disseminated variety. REPORT OF CASES Case 1.—First Admission.—History: J. G. H., a 39-year-old man of Mexican descent, was first admitted to Hines Hospital on Feb. 6, 1951.
