Abstract
A case is reported of primary localized amyloid tumor of the orbit in a 68 yr old woman in whom myasthenia gravis had been diagnosed 33 yr previously. An amyloid tumor with this location is very rare, and up to the present time only 13 cases have been recorded in the literature. The reported orbital amyloid tumor revealed a considerable accumulation of activity at orbital scintigraphy with 99mTc and, compared with the conventional pseudotumors, a distinct rise in density at computed tomography after i.v. infusion of iodized contrast medium. Keywords
