Abstract
Observations on a 3d component c of the chlorophyll complex, described in 1934, were shown by spectrophotometric observations to be a result of decomposition of chlorophyll a to pheophytin a during the preparative procedure. Very recent work permits a better interpretation of earlier results. The spectrophotometric method was shown to be a valuable control of chromatographic separation of chlorophyll compounds.
