Abstract
Fatal spontaneous rupture of the liver is described in a 46-year-old women with hepatic amyloidosis diagnosed premortem by liver biopsy. An autopsy revealed systemic amyloidosis, with no evidence of an underlying chronic inflammatory condition, infection, or immunocyte dyscrasia. By computerized search, this is only the third reported case of spontaneous rupture of the liver complicating amyloidosis. Keywords
