Abstract
Recoil-distance techniques have been used to measure mean lives of some two-hole, particle-hole, and two-particle states in , , and . A comprehensive comparison is presented of these results and all other known and matrix elements for two-body states with calculations. The calculations are made using wave functions of Ma and True and of Kuo and Herling together with known effective single-particle matrix elements. Reasonable agreement is obtained, particularly with the Kuo-Herling wave functions. From measurements of the → transition rate in , the magnetic moment of the proton-hole state in is determined to be .
