Abstract
This article presents a survey of the child behavior therapy literature, drawing upon reviews and outcome studies published in the past five years. A number of criticisms are made. Child behavior therapy research needs to acquire a greater developmental focus, conduct more complex functional analyses, place greater emphasis on assessment and description of subjects, and employ more consistent use of adequate designs and procedures. Recent work, nonetheless, reflects greater methodological and conceptual sophistication than was found in earlier reviews. Keywords
