Research into weed control in Iraq is largely the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture. The recommendations which the Department of Weed Control have made on the basis of this research are presented. The principal weed species of Iraq are listed with some indication of their occurrence and importance. Both research and control of weeds in Iraq are limited at present.
