Real-time ultrasound diagnosis of intussusception in children.

Abstract
Real-time ultrasonography was used to evaluate 3 pediatric patients with palpable abdominal masses in whom intussusception was not suspected. In each case real-time sonography suggested the correct diagnosis, which was subsequently proved by barium enema examination or surgery. Variations in the typical target-like or bull''s-eye sonographic pattern include tubular, hourglass and fused target-like configurations.
