Abstract
• A new balloon dilation catheter based on the concept of linear extrusion of the dilating element was developed and used clinically. The operative results were satisfactory with a substantial increase in lumen size that was found in more than 90% of the cases studied. Operative complications related to this technique were noted in two of 66 patients. A longer-term follow-up and increased application are required to determine the spectrum of use and durability of the procedure. (Arch Surg 1981;116:1391-1398)Keywords
