Abstract
Due to its noninvasive nature, nuclear imaging has become very important for the diagnosis of human heart diseases. In this paper, experiments are described with different operations for smoothing, thresholding, and contour extraction in images from gated blood pool studies. The goal is to locate the heart and the left ventricle in an image. The methods described here are part of a larger system for the automatic analysis of images from gated blood pool studies. Keywords
