Benefits of sequential assessment

Abstract
Social workers attempting to assess whether a client has a particular problem may often find themselves operating under constraints having to do with both time and money. Deciding to undertake assessments of different degrees of complexity may therefore be needed in different contexts. This study explores the benefits of a model of three stages or levels of assessment and focuses on the use of the model with individuals who had problems with excessive drinking or drug abuse.
