Abstract
The results of the determination of blood and cerebrospinal fluid copper (total and direct reacting), and blood ceruloplasmin contents in epileptic cases, as well as in mental patients before and after electroshock are reported. Certain conclusions were drawn from this study and are reported. The significance of the described disorders of copper metabolism in epilepsy and in electro-shock induced convulsions is tentatively related to the loose binding of copper in cerebrocuprein I, as well as to the role of the cuproenzyme, cytochrome-oxidase, in the generation of cellular energy. Keywords
