Abstract
This guideline is intended to be advisory only and has been developed to assist Long-Term Care Facility Infection Control Committees in the development of a rational approach to reducing the potential for ARM transmission. The implementation of all or part of the elements of this guideline will depend on what has worked (or the facility in the past. If a facility has existing policies and procedures to control the transmission of a specific ARM and the endemic rate of ARM is low, there may be no need to modify the existing procedures. If, for instance, a LTCF has never had any experience with ARM and they have been requested to accepta new or returning resident colonized or infected with a specific ARM, the guideline may be a helpful resource to the LTCRKeywords
