Abstract
The magnetotactic bacterium A. magnetotacticum contains ferrous ions, a low density hydrous ferric oxide, a high density hydrous ferric oxide (ferrihydrite) and Fe 3 O 4 , which is precipitated by partial reduction of the ferrihydrite precursor. Keywords
